Bella Bread was created as a solution to not being able to find an enjoyable bread that fit my dietary requirements and standards.

INTENTIONAL INGREDIENTS

At Bella Bread, every ingredient is multi-purpose. Each component of our gluten-free sourdough has a part to play in both the eating experience and the nutritional value of the bread.

    • At Bella Bread, we use a gluten-free starter. Wheat/ gluten has never been involved in the growth of our mother. It is truly a gluten-free sourdough (because no, not all sourdough is gluten-free).

    • Sourdough is a naturally fermented bread, meaning that no artificial yeast is used. It is fermented using a combination of flour and water that grows a starter, AKA naturally occurring yeast and lactobacillus bacteria, to raise/bubble up the dough.

    • In addition to leavening the bread, the fermentation process produces lactic acid, which gives the bread its distinct sour flavor!

    • Easier on digestion than baker’s yeast: the fermentation process breaks down the starches and proteins that could otherwise cause digestive discomfort.

    • FIBER

    • slightly nutty flavor

    • a more nutritionally dense flour: contains B vitamins, iron, magnesium, and other minerals

    • mild, takes on the flavors of whatever it is working with

    • a starchy flour that balances out the blend of the heartier ingredients

    • easy to digest

    • Helps give the bread its hearty & moist texture

    • A fabulous source of fiber

    • A lot of people take it as a digestive supplement

    • enhances the flavor of the bread

    • contains more minerals than regular table salt

    • Does not taste like coconut at all! The flavor is reminiscent of caramel and butterscotch :)

    • lower glycemic index than refined sugar (more gradual rise in blood sugar levels/ helps to avoid energy crashes)

    • full of necessary vitamins & antioxidants

    • A tiny bit is mixed into every bagel!

    • bold flavor- bittersweet, earthy, slightly burnt notes

    • darkest & least sweet of all the molasses types

A few years ago, I was dealing with an eating disorder that ultimately caused some complications with my health and digestion. From this experience, one of the many things I learned was that I feel a big difference when I simply eat less processed and gluten-free.

Of course, I still wanted to eat bread, but nothing I could find at the store tasted amazing or fit my ingredient standards. Being a baker myself, I decided I could figure something out. It took a lot longer than I expected, but after about a year, I came up with the recipe you can enjoy through Bella Bread, today!

  • You have a couple options!

    1. Order on my website under the “SHOP” tab.

    2. I have a bunch of fabulous retailers currently keeping my bread stocked! I have put together a sweet retailer map for you to refer to. I would recommend calling ahead of making a trip because you guys often sell them out!

  • We recommend refrigerating or freezing as soon as possible.

  • Bella Bread is a gluten-free, vegan sourdough bread. It is made with super minimal ingredients, naturally fermented, refined sugar-free, gum-free, and preservative-free.

  • We’re able to cancel your order if it’s not already started processing! All orders are made fresh, so once an order has been started, we’re unable to make changes. We’ll do our best - just get in touch with us asap!

  • While we strive to make delicious sourdough bread, flavor and texture is subjective (this is real sourdough bread, please keep in mind that it will be sour). We understand that BB might not be for everyone! If you have a complaint regarding your bread, please reach out immediately. Please email bellabread.gf@gmail.com within 24 hours, if the quality of the bread is determined to not meet our standards, we will issue replacement or refund. Please understand that we cannot issue refunds for loaves that were not picked up on the date selected or were consumed more than 24 hours after delivery. We will not refund if contacted after 48 hours of receiving the bread.

  • Login to your account (login located at the top of Bella Bread site). From there, you can navigate the “Subscription” section, where you can cancel/ delay your subscriptions.

  • While I use only gluten-free ingredients and I clean my space/ equipment to the best of my ability- I work out of a commissary kitchen along with vendors who use wheat-based ingredients. Therefore I leave it up to the individual buyer’s discretion.

  • Our products are not certified organic. With that said, we prioritize simple, high-quality ingredients without added fillers and preservatives.
